Elite Softball Program Information

What is Elite Softball?

The KYA Elite Softball program is for softball players who strive for more competition than what is offered in a recreational program. This program is for experienced players who can dedicate time for weekly practices and weekend tournaments.  The teams in this program will participate in Select Tournaments within the DFW area only.  This is not a traveling select program.

How does this program work and why is it different from recreational softball?

Elite teams will not have weekly games and/nor play in the recreational division for KYA.  These teams are also not eligible for All Star Tournaments.  Teams will practice at the KYA softball fields and may have scrimmages there. Elite teams will attend 6-8 tournaments a season.  All tournaments will be in the DFW area.  Each tournament will be picked by the Softball VP and/or Softball commissioners. Dates vary each season for tournaments, but parents and players will be notified of tournament dates as soon as they are picked. On top of the registration fee, families need to be aware that the cost for the Elite program can be around $350 more per season. Players will still register in KYA for the initial registration fee which will cover uniform and insurance cost. Residents of Keller $115 and non-residents $145.

Tournament fees and KYA registration fee does NOT include:

-Transportation to and from tournaments.

-Travel costs to and from tournaments.

-Food, drinks, or personal items needed for practices and tournaments.

-No personal equipment will be provided for players. (Catcher’s gear will be available to borrow for the season, but it belongs to KYA and must be returned.)

Other Important Info.

*If a player does not make the Elite Team, she is eligible to be on a KYA recreation team.

*Coaches do not get paid for their service, we are a volunteer organization.

*Any person or organization that wants to offer a sponsorship, must be approved by the KYA board.

*All coaches, parents, and players will be held accountable to follow the KYA Code of Conduct during practices and tournaments.  Anyone who does not follow the code of conduct can be asked to leave KYA and will not receive a refund for any fees that were paid up to that time.
